Well was sick for most of this week, finally started to feel better about Thursday.
Saturday I finally got to do woodstock (Last section of the kayak leg in c2c). It was really fun, a little cold there was still snow on the ground up at woodstock. There was one corner on the river with a bluff which was quite nasty, 2 people in our group fell out (one damaged his boat quite bad on the bluff, he just kept going straight) but I managed to stay upright. Josh made all of us do it again, a bit more nerve racking the 2nd time but still got around with no probs.
Sunday, went on the 5 passes bunch ride, the bunch went out to tai tap and back, then we were to either go to Sumner on the flat or along the hill. I decided to do the hill because I haven't hit the hills in months. My god it was tough.. I never struggled up the summit before like that. I am serously shitting myself now about 5 passes, I need to hit the hills a bit more regualary and get some easier gears on my bike, so I don't smash my legs so much when doing the hills.

Week Ending 8 July
This weekend I had my 2nd Brass Monkey event. The first 1 I had managed to win my class. But didn't think I would be so hopeful this weekend, for 2 reasons,
Finished in 54min, placed 3rd.

- Rachel who lost her paddle in the first race, wasn't going to loose it again, and she is better paddler than me.
- I had a chest infection, so really shouldn't have been racing.
Finished in 54min, placed 3rd.
Let me start a Journal
Thought I would start a journal for myself in my buld up to the 2 day Coast to Coast. Don't know if anybody will be interested in my Journal but we will see.
In my build up to the Coast to Coast I set myself 3 major goals on the way:
5 passes is the next goal on my list, and is going to be the toughest. Starts November 1.
In my build up to the Coast to Coast I set myself 3 major goals on the way:
- Get my Grade 2 Kayak Certificate (is a requirment for C2C, so want be going anywhere with out it)
- Complete a 1/2 Marathon, just because my running sucks, and thought it might be the best way to build up my base running.
- Do the five Passes tour, on forst of November. A 4 day cycle tour of the middle SI of NZ. Purpose is to build up my cycle endurance.
5 passes is the next goal on my list, and is going to be the toughest. Starts November 1.
